I loved doing Hamish's Sunday Wise event. It was really eclectic and smart and relaxed - like an old fashioned salon. It's the sort of thing London does so well. -Jon Ronson, previous Sunday Wise speaker

On the last, you guessed it, Sunday of every month, Hamish curates a day of speakers, musicians, poets and comedians to excite, inspire and edify. If any of this conjures up thoughts of grey-slab schoolrooms and shrill bespectacled lecturers, fear not.  Cerebral, perhaps, but this is low-slung-jeans and beanie-hat-casual.

If you're ever stuck for things to do in London on a Sunday, then you'd do well to book in at Sunday Wise at the Ivy Club. A fabulous cocktail of all our favourite things, it encompasses talks by inspiring figures from the world of culture and the arts, stand up comedy, spoken word, and a sprinkling of live jazz. And all set to the stunning backdrop of the Ivy’s Piano Bar.

The speakers will debate topics and discuss current affairs from the week, before some inspirational words or street poetry are given from a chosen artist. Lunch is served in the informal surroundings of The Piano Bar with entertainment provided in the form of some slinky pianists. After lunch guests experience some of London’s freshest comedy.

We adore @Sunday_Wise! A fabulous monthly event that will ease your transition from weekend to workday   #culture

What Founder Hamish Jenkinson says about the event

“I’ve been looking for an event on Sunday that would ease the transition from weekend to workday and get my brain cells back on track in nice easy surroundings.  Talking to Fernando Peire at the Club at The Ivy, I hit upon the formula – a review of the the best bits of the Sunday papers over the ultimate G&T.  And here it is –  A cerebral new Sunday Lunch experience with topical news from leading commentators, sharp satirical comedy and some slinky Sunday jazz.   We’ll run it once a month throughout 2013  at the uber-sexy Club at the Ivy for a hand-picked gathering of some beautiful and some brainy people (and even a couple of lucky ones with both!). Every last sunday of the month from 12.30pm to 5pm with a new line up of speakers every month.  Come and join me!”
